Mae Tao Clinic is 20 year's old

The Clinic we're working through celebrated their 20th Anniversary. We celebrated with music, Karen dancing, karaoke and some good food. At the entrance were KNLA soldiers standing guard. It seemed a little peculiar since we were on Thai soil. (We found out later that some of the KNU and KNLA lead military men were asked to leave Mae Sot).

Ben, Danny, and I had our own personal translators (his students from CDC) for the opening ceremony speeches. During the evening festivities, we had a troupe of young men following us around and taking care of us. Boy the Burmese really know how to treat their teachers :) The songs were remade American songs sang in Karen language. That was hilarious in it's self. One of the boys, who always wears a red hat, helped Ben learn how to say romantic things in Karen. (Or at least he claimed they were romantic.... probably was saying I had smelly feet). Ben and Danny spotted a boy wearing a t-shirt that said ya all come back now ya hear.... Yeah a little bit of the south right here in Mae Sot.
